Presidential Perspective - Fall Issue

I would like to thank everyone who attended the Top Producers Educational Conference (“TPEC”) this past July in Tahoe. We were proud to honor your outstanding contributions to our shared vision of NEXT and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with each and every one of you.

It was an exceptional event featuring a wide array of educational forums created for you to improve your business practices, along with a diverse list of entertaining activities designed with your best interest in mind. The attendees at this year’s educational conference represented 20 percent of NEXT’s total productivity between the individual and divisional leaders present. In addition to your outstanding contributions made to the broker-dealer, we cherish the exceptional service you give to your customers and communities on a daily basis. I am looking forward to next year’s TPEC in San Francisco, California and I cannot wait to experience it with you.

For those who were unable to attend the TPEC this year or who want to relive good times, I am sharing a compilation video of this year’s conference. It is a combination of our events and activities shared by all. To view the video, please click on the link below.

Houston Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
On Saturday, Oct. 1, executives and employees  of NEXT Financial Group Inc. were surrounded by a sea of pink as we walked in this year’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® to help put an end to breast cancer.

More than 38,000 people participated in the 2011 Houston Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, raising $1.9 million that will go toward breast cancer research, education and treatment programs.

With one in eight women becoming diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, the money raised and support gained through the Race makes a difference to so many people.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® was a fantastic opportunity for us to get involved with our local area and show our support to those who need it most. I cannot express how proud I was to walk as a NEXT Breast Friend, and my hat goes off to everyone who contributed to the cause.

I am looking forward to walking with all of you again next year and taking part in this exceptional charity event for a fifth time.

However, you can still make a difference! The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Foundation is continuing to accept money donations. If you would like to contribute to their efforts please visit www.komen-houston.org.

Socialware: Advancing your Social Media Use
As social media continues to dominate the communications industry, we thought it was important to find a way to compliantly allow you access to this medium as a means of furthering your audience reach and promoting the services of your business.

Recently, we partnered with Socialware, a website service designed to track and regulate social media sites for financial service providers, to give you access to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook without fear of repercussion from FINRA. Socialware keeps track of every tweet, status update, profile change or other social media application used by our Representatives. It oversees all activity on these sites to guarantee compliance.

This is your chance to finally join the networking world and bring your business face-to-face with potential clients. Thanks to our combined efforts with Socialware, you can now use social media as another marketing device, giving you an edge over your competition. The possibilities are endless with social media and I strongly encourage you to take full advantage of this opportunity.;

What Are You Thankful For?

After another successful year for NEXT, we knew we were thankful for you, our Representatives. NEXT Executives showed their thanks to the Home Office by cooking and serving some of fall's most famous foods to feast on. With green bean casseroles, sweet potato pies, giant turkey legs and Barry Knight serving heaping piles of mashed potatoes, it was NEXT to impossible not to embrace the holiday spirit.
